Satellite tracking equipment allows end-users to transmit location information from remote areas. This can be accomplished by sending GPS locations to a satellite from the device at a pre-set interval, or by activiting an emergency mode. The satellites then pass the information to the ground network and through the internet to other applications, such as the PathWay tracking application. In addition, Qaujimautik Systems will contact the relevant authorities during an emergency situation.

The tracking equipment is built with a transceiver, a battery, and an antenna. Rather than separate antennas, GPS and Iridium satellites are accessed through one antenna providing a 2-in-1 solution. Mobile devices are housed in a protective case, while the fixed solution is housed in multiple terminal units.
